Our ISB Student Representative, Melissa Boswell, has put together a great new initiative to encourage community engagement and support for students via a biomechanics podcast, called Biomechanics On Our Minds (BOOM!). Visit the BOOM podcast site and have a listen!

For those of you who might have missed out on attending the ISB last year in Brisbane, you have an opportunity to view the outstanding keynote lectures from last years conference. The main Keynotes, including the Wartenweiler memorial lecture are now available for viewing at the Tutorials and Lectures section of the ISB website. Please note that these recordings are only available to active members. If you missed out on the conference AND you are not a member, this is a good opportunity to become one and then get access to these wonderful talks :)

The ISB 2017 Tutorials were also a great success from last years conference and are also available for viewing here.

The National Biomechanics Day in 2017 was a huge success, with >7,000 high school students attending biomechanics labs all over the world. Well done to Paul DeVita, the founder of NBD, for pulling this together.

The third National Biomechanics Day will be held on April 11, 2018, and we encourage biomechanists around the globe to get together and celebrate our science by hosting an event in your local community. You can register your interest in hosting an event here.

The next ISB conference will be held in Calgary in 2019 and we are very much looking forward to the event. The event organisers have been working hard behind the scenes already and you can find out more from the official ISB2019 website, which is now live!

The minutes of the 2015 General Assembly of the ISB will be considered at the General Assembly in Brisbane on Thursday 27 July 2017.

The 8th World Congress of Biomechanics will be held in Dublin, 8-12 July 2018, and the International Society of Biomechanics will be well represented at the meeting. Following on from our successful ISB Congress, we hope to see many ISB members at the world congress next year. Our President-Elect, Professor Tony Arndt will be giving the ISB Sponsored Plenary and past president, Prof Julie Steele will also be giving a Plenary talk.

The call for abstracts to the WCB is now open and abstract submissions close Dec 19. We hope to see a good turnout of ISB members in Dublin next year.
