The 2006 meeting of the International Shoulder Group will take place in Chicago from 9-10 October, and will immediately precede the BMES meeting.

Travel

The site of the meeting is located in Chicago on the downtown campus of Northwestern University. The presentations will take place in the Pritzker Auditorium located on the 3rd floor of the Feinberg Pavilion at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (251 E. Huron Street). Please see the local area map provided below.

From O’Hare International airport:

Car/Auto:

The meeting location is approximately 45 minutes by taxi or automobile from Chicago O’Hare International airport. Take I-90 Kennedy expressway east to East Ohio Street exit. Head east to Michigan Avenue, turn north on Michigan for 3 blocks, and then turn east on Huron Street. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is one block east of Michigan Avenue at the corner of Huron and St. Clair St.

Taxi:

Taxicabs are available on a first come, first serve basis from the lower level curbfront of all terminals. Shared ride service is available. There are no flat rates because all taxicabs run on meters. Expect to spend approximately $35 to $40 for a taxicab ride to downtown Chicago.

Shuttle:

Continental Airport Express offers daily, door-to-door service to and from O'Hare airport from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Departures are about every 5 to 10 minutes. (Recommend calling Continental for more specific departure and arrival information at 888-284-3826). The fare to the city is approximately $25.00. An information counter and pickup is located in the baggage claims areas of Terminals 1, 2, and 3, and outside U.S. Customs in Terminal 5.

Train:

A lower cost ($2.00) option is to take the CTA “L” train from the airport to downtown Chicago. Trains run approximately every 8 minutes from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, and approximately every ten minutes from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends. The CTA station is accessible by pedestrian tunnels located in Terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the airport.

Take the Blue Line train southeast to downtown and exit at the Washington stop. Walk through tunnel to transfer to the Red Line train running north to Grand. Exit at Grand and Northwestern Memorial Hospital is located 4 blocks north and 4 blocks east (across Michigan Avenue).

From Midway International airport:

Car/Auto:

The meeting location is approximately 40 minutes by taxi or automobile from Chicago Midway International airport. Take Cicero Avenue north to I-55 Stevenson expressway. Go north on I-55, then exit at I-90/94 Dan Ryan expressway heading west. Take I-90/94 Ryan expressway to East Ohio Street exit. Head east to Michigan Avenue, turn north on Michigan for 3 blocks, and then turn east on Huron Street. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is one block east of Michigan Avenue at the corner of Huron and St. Clair St.

The pickup location is located outside door LL3, inside lane.

Train:

A lower cost ($2.00) option is to take the CTA “L” train from the airport to downtown Chicago. Trains run approximately every 8 minutes from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. The CTA station is accessible south of the terminal near the first floor of the parking garage.
Take the Orange Line train northeast and exit at the Roosevelt stop. Transfer to the Red Line train running north to Grand. Exit at Grand and Northwestern Memorial Hospital is located 4 blocks north and 4 blocks east (across Michigan Avenue).

Abstract submission

Please submit your papers formatted as you would like them to appear in the Proceedings. Papers may be up to 4 pages in length and should be formatted for U.S. letter-size (8.5 inches x 11 inches) paper. The margins should be 1 inch on all sides. The font type should be Times or Times New Roman, and the font size should be 12.

The Title, Authors, and Affiliations should be center-justified at the top of the first page. Both title and authors should be in Title Case. We would like you to use first names and initials between brackets if needed. The remaining text should be single-spaced and in a two-column format. The text should be divided into sections such as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, and References. Section titles are preceded by one blank line and are underlined (not bold). Sections should start at the left margin and text should be fully justified.
